Hey my name is Libby and I was a lucky kid. See at the age of three my family and I moved to New Zealand and if you have never been, well it's pretty much the most gorgeous place on planet Earth. We moved to a cozy house on the top of a hill. Our house was surrounded by trees.... no more like a forest. In the front of our house there was a humongous window that looked over the ocean. Every once in a while, at the right time, you would see a whale jump out of the water, the sight was so stunning that it seemed as if time would stop. As a kid these moments had an impact on me and that's when I knew that protectng my planet and keeping it healthy was my plan in life. Today I see the impact that coal plants have on our environment and its hard to watch the beautiful place that I once knew be demolished before my eyes. It's time for renewable energy. If coal costs a lot, damages the community, and destroys the environment then whats the point of investing more money in these coal plants. Its time for renewable energy. I would much rather pay for something that would be beneficial to my community than to contribute to something that's, to simply put it, ineffective.
