i was fired from my corporate job in silicon valley in the late 90s. Going to the hills to find repose and release of my frustrations I discovered the Sierra Club. They showed me where to hike, emergency procedures for hikers, etc. and I fell in love with nature. I changed my life by becoming campaign director as part of the international team of Earth Day Network and realized that we could do something about our love for nature and its parallel destruction as a worldwide community I could use my business skills, people skills, language skills, and most importantly my heart to do something. As life goes on, I am now married and a stay-at-home Mom. To keep with my passions I am a member of various environmental non-profits, including GreenPeace - which I find the most daring and outspoken of all of them. We really need that kind of calibre now in 2009. Imagine we were worried about melting glaciers in 2000, trying to get people to change their ways at Earth Day Network, and here, 9 years later, we are at more of a dangerous balance than we had imagined then. Do your part!
